Robert Rees is an award-winning stage and television actor, degree-level drama teacher, and presentation coach to everyone from YouTube vloggers to CEOs.
In 2024, Robert created, co-produced, and starred as Buttons in Cinderella, the King’s Head Theatre’s first-ever family pantomime. This immersive production received rave reviews and became a major hit for the venue. It marked a fitting
bookend to a successful year for Robert, who also starred in Exhibitionists, the inaugural play at the King’s Head’s brand-new 200-seat space.
In 2022, Robert launched and co-produced the podcast series Acting for Others Presents, which brought together some of the UK’s most beloved performers to support theatre workers in need. The series featured an extraordinary lineup including Dame Judi Dench, Olly Alexander, David Tennant, Paapa Essiedu, Miriam Margolyes, Sir Derek Jacobi, Noma Dumezweni, Golda Rosheuvel, Dame Eileen Atkins, Adjoa Andoh, Christopher Biggins, and Su Pollard.
A passionate advocate for the arts, Robert also served as Event Producer for the inaugural West End Flea Market and its two subsequent events. He continues to support the Acting for Others charity whenever possible.
Robert trained at Arts Educational Schools London before completing a postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was awarded the prestigious Graham Norton Scholarship.
Upon graduating, he originated the role of Andreas in the UK tour of Ladies in Lavender, directed by Robin LeFevre and starring Belinda Lang and Academy Award-winner Hayley Mills. His performance earned him a BroadwayWorld UK Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. Further credits include Beirut (Park Theatre, London), The Mousetrap (St Martin’s Theatre, West End) and Fugitive Kind (Donmar Warehouse).
Robert also played the iconic role of Peter Pan for two consecutive years at the New Wimbledon Theatre and the Bristol Hippodrome, performing opposite David Hasselhoff as Captain Hook.
Television: Robert became widely recognised as the face of O2’s national ad campaign, portraying ‘Brian the O2 Guru’.
